Alumnus Ravi Tandon (EE Ph.D. 2010) joined the University of Arizona’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department as a tenure-track Assistant Professor on August 17, 2015. Tandon’s research interests are in information theory, wireless communications and signal processing, with applications to machine learning and data analytics, distributed cloud storage systems, cyber-physical systems, cyber-security, and privacy. For his Ph.D. thesis, he developed capacity bounds for wireless networks with feedback, relaying and cooperation. At Maryland, Tandon was advised by Professor Sennur Ulukus (ECE/ISR).
Following his Ph.D. at Maryland, Tandon completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Princeton University with Dean Vincent Poor, and held a Research Assistant Professor position at Virginia Tech.
