Alumnus Himanshu Tyagi (EE Ph.D. 2013) has joined the Indian Institute of Science as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering. At Maryland, Tyagi was advised by Professor Prakash Narayan (ECE/ISR).

Most recently, Tyagi was a postdoctoral fellow in the Information Theory and Applications Center at the University of California, San Diego. His research interests are in the application of information theory to security, interactive communication and statistical learning.
