Four Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Ph.D. students have been selected as ECE Distinguished Dissertation Fellows for 2011-12.  

The fellowships are awarded to outstanding students in the final stages of dissertation work in recognition of their research excellence.  This year, each fellowship recipient will receive $5,000. The winners will be scheduled to present as a part of the ECE Graduate Student Association (ECEGSA) seminar series.

Ersen Ekrem (advised by Prof. Sennur Ulukus), Chad Ropp (advised by Prof. Edo Waks), Nitesh Shroff (advised by Prof. Rama Chellappa) and Himanshu Tyagi (advised by Prof. Prakash Narayan) were the winners.

The selection committee included Professors Shihab Shamma (chair), Thomas Murphy, Timothy Horiuchi, Manoj Franklin,and Nuno Martins.
