ISR welcomes Vahid Tabatabaee to our faculty as an Assistant Research Scientist. He is no stranger to ISR, having received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2003. He was advised by Professor John Baras (ECE/ISR) and former ISR faculty member Leandros Tassiulas.
After receiving his doctorate, he was a senior member of the architecture team in Zagros Networks, and was Research Associate in UMIACS and the Department of Computer Science at University of Maryland.
Tabatabaee's research interests are in computer and communication networks with an emphasis on modeling of wireless networks, design of optimal and robust protocols and algorithms for wired and wireless networks, distributed scheduling, routing and resource allocation in wireless networks. Specifically, he is working on wireless network design and modeling; distributed routing, scheduling and resource allocation in wireless networks; and global and convex optimization algorithms. He is affiliated with the Maryland Hybrid Networks Center.
