The Institute for Systems Research is pleased to announce five new ISR Graduate Student Travel Award recipients. This award is given to deserving graduate students to help defray the travel costs of attending a conference to present their research. The first three awards were given in 2017.

ISR is grateful to the generous alumni, faculty, staff and friends who have raised sufficient funding for the Institute to bestow the awards on an ongoing basis. If you would like to contribute to the funding, a page that gives information and an opportunity to support the award is here.

The five award winners just announced are:

Sunandita Patra, a Computer Science graduate student advised by Professor Dana Nau (CS/ISR), to attend the sixth annual conference on Advances in Cognitive Systems (ACS), Palo Alto, Calif., 8/18-8/20/18.

Saurabh Sahu, an Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate student advised by Professor Carol Espy-Wilson (ECE/ISR), to attend Interspeech 2018, Hyderabad, India, 9/2-9/6/18.

Chenxi Wen, an Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate student advised by ISR-affiliated Associate Professor Timothy Horiuchi (ECE), to attend IEEE Biomedical Circuits and Systems (BioCAS) 2018, Cleveland, Ohio, 10/17-10/19/18

Debdipta Goswami, an Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate student advised by Professor Derek Paley (AE/ISR), to attend the 57th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), Miami Beach, Fla., 12/17-12/19/18.

James Ferlez, an Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate student advised by Professor Steve Marcus (ECE/ISR) and Professor Rance Cleaveland (CS/ISR), to attend the 57th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), Miami Beach, Fla., 12/17-12/19/18.
