ISR's Coordinator of Education Programs Lee Harper has earned an M.A. in education policy, planning and administration, specializing in higher education, from the University of Maryland. Lee's seminar paper, "Elite Aspirations, Equity, and Diversity in Postsecondary Education," synthesizes the literature on institutional prestige-seeking and college access; as a critical race theorist, she is interested in learning whether students of color hear and interpret the language around institutional status differently, and if this affects their college and major field choices.

Lee next will begin doctoral studies on curriculum theory and development in the university's Department of Education Policy, focusing on undergraduate engineering.
