ISR-affiliated Assistant Professor Piya Pal (ECE) is serving as a guest editor for a special issue of the Elsevier journal Digital Signal Processing.

The topic is co-prime sampling and arrays. The issue, which will be published in August 2016, will cover the most recent results in signal processing using co-prime sampling and arrays. Topics include co-prime beamforming for passive and active sensing; high-resolution DOA estimation using co-prime arrays and co-prime MIMO radar; sparse reconstruction based on co-prime sampling and co-prime array configurations; SAR imaging using co-prime arrays; two-dimensional co-prime array design; co-prime array calibration and mutual coupling effects; generalizations of co-prime and nested arrays; performance Analysis of co-prime and nested samplers; applications to sonar, radar, MRI, geolocation, and other areas; and broader implications of co-prime sampling and arrays.
