The Maryland Robotics Center at the University of Maryland in conjunction with the  Strategic Cell of NAWCAD-Patuxent River, Maryland organized a Workshop on Autonomy Research on May 11th and 12th. The workshop was attended by close to 60 participants. Participating organizations included University of Maryland, NAWCAD, Army Research Lab, Naval Research Lab, Applied Physics Lab, and NIST. Several local companies also participated in the workshop. Breakout groups explored the following three topics: (1)  Human Interaction Considerations in Design of Autonomous Systems, (2) Robustness and Safety Considerations in Design of Autonomous Systems, and (3) Collaboration, Communication, and Control Considerations in Unmanned Vehicle.
