Professor Ankur Srivastava |

Associate Professor Ankur Srivastava will serve the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department as the Interim Chair of Graduate Studies and Research. He succeeds Professor K. J. Ray Liu who held the position from 2006 - 2013.
Professor Srivastava holds a joint appointment with the University of Maryland Institute of Systems Research (ISR). His primary research interest lies in the field of high performance, low power electronic systems and applications such as computer vision, data and storage centers, and sensor networks.
Srivastava received a B. Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1998, a M.S. degree in 2000 from Northwestern University, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA in 2002. He has been a part of the technical program committee of several conferences such as ICCAD, DAC, ISPD, ICCD, GLSVLSI. He is also the associate editor of IEEE Transactions on VLSI and INTEGRATION: VLSI Journal. He has served on several NSF panels and is also the reviewer of several conferences and journals such as ICCAD, DAC, ISPD, IEEE Transactions on CAD and IEEE Transactions on VLSI.
His research and teaching endeavors have received several awards including the Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award from the CS Department of UCLA, Best Paper Award from ISPD 2007, George Corcoran Memorial Teaching Award from the ECE Department of University of Maryland, Best Paper Nomination in ICCAD 2003, ACM-SIGDA Outstanding Dissertation Nomination in 2003. His contributions have also been featured in articles appearing in trade magazines such as EE-Times.
