The Chronicle of Higher Education has published an insightful feature story on the Autonomous Province of Trento, Italy and its commitment to research.
ISR and the University of Maryland have a formal research partnership and a longstanding and successful relationship with Trento researchers. The leading research and education collaborators in Trento are the University of Trento, the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, and Fondazione Bruno Kessler.
The partnership has already led to funding for international research projects in applications for solar dishes, control of living cells through communication with artificial cells in cell-based systems, and autonomous ultra-low power vision systems. The collaborations are funded by the Autonomous Province of Trento.
Researchers are being exchanged between the province and ISR for portions of the projects, in keeping with the research internationalization goals of the province and the University of Maryland.
Details about the partnership between the Autonomous Province of Trento, Italy, and the University of Maryland are available online at: http://www.isr.umd.edu/news/news_story.php?id=6102.
