The new Honda Gold Wing motorcycle

The new Honda Gold Wing motorcycle

Honda has been in the news lately for the introduction of its new 2006 Honda Gold Wing, which includes the first-ever motorcycle air bag. Former ISR Visiting Scientist Yuichi Kato played a large role in the production of this vehicle, designing almost all its plastic parts, such as the front and side cowls, speaker box, front and rear fenders, trunk and saddlebag. Mr. Kato also was responsible for the cycle's heated seat, grip heater, radiator, frame body, stays, exhaust pipe, muffler, and air cleaner. Mr. Kato was one of ISR's first visiting scientists in 1999-2000.
