William Herring, a Ph.D. student in the Applied Mathematics & Statistics, and Scientific Computation program working with Associate Professor Jeffrey Herrmann (ME/ISR), has won the graduate paper prize in the 2010 Society for Health Systems Student Paper Competition.

Herring won the prize for his work, A Stochastic Dynamic Program for the Single-day Surgery Scheduling Problem.
