ISR-affiliated Ph.D. candidate Jiaqiao Hu (ECE) will join the Applied Mathematics and Statistics Department in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Stony Brook (SUNY) as assistant professor this August. Jiaqiao, who will graduate later this summer, is co-advised by Professor Steven Marcus (ECE/ISR) and Professor Michael Fu (Robert H. Smith School of Business/ISR).

Jiaqiao received a B.S. in Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. His research interests include Markov decision processes, applied probability, and simulation optimization.
