Professor Anthony Ephremides (ECE/ISR), Gam Nguyen and Jeffrey Wieselthier co-authored a paper that received the Alan Berman Research Publication Award from the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). The Award honors superior scientific accomplishments in the field of naval research, and promotes continued research excellence. Of the 333 papers considered for the awards, only 34 were selected for recognition.

The paper, "Accurate Capture Models and their Impact on Random Access in Multiple-Destination Networks," extends existing models to better characterize the impact of the physical layer on random-access performance for both single-destination and multiple-destination networks.
