Congratulations to Lynn Preston, the National Science Foundation's Deputy Director, Division of Engineering Education and Centers. She has been named NSF's Engineer of the Year 2003. Preston played a pivotal leadership role in designing and developing NSF's Engineering Research Centers (ERC) program. ISR was one of the first ERCs established, and is now considered a "graduated" ERC.
