Professor Tony Ephremides (ECE/ISR) has been appointed editor-in-chief of Foundations and Trends in Networking, a new high-quality and selective periodical published by a new Netherlands publisher, NOW--The Essence of Knowledge.

There are already several series of Foundations and Trends, including Foundations and Trends in Communications and Information Theory and Foundations and Trends in Stochastic Systems.

Each series publishes four issues per year, each of which is an in-depth monograph by one author (or group of authors); these are thoroughly reviewed and are catalogued as both journal issues as well as individual books. This is a new concept in scientific publishing, started only two years ago. Each series has an editor in chief and and a sizeable editorial board of distinguished specialists

Dr. Ephremides is also an invited panelist to the Network Science Panel at the 24th US Army Science Conference in Orlando, FL on November 30 and is an invited speaker to the Technical University of Vienna, Austria, on January 21, 2005.
